Dr. Marc Gold completed his Optometry training in 1985 from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry. In 1996 he became certified and in 2001 became glaucoma certified. Dr. Gold has extensive training in detecting and treating diseases of the eye. His offices have the technology to allow him to treat eye conditions that only specialists have been able to treat in the past.
Dr Gold was born and grew up in Houston and has been immersed in optometry his entire life. His father is one of the original owners of a Texas State Optical which is still open & has been thriving for 57 years.
Dr. Gold continues to donate his time, as well as glasses to kids in need of visual help. In the last 8 years he has seen & made glasses for over 1000 patients that are a part of the Eye Care for Kids program. He also has a close relationship with the local school nurses, to ensure that all kids have the opportunity to do well in school due to their corrective lenses.
Dr. Gold is happily married to his wife, Syndy, & has four kids. Kyle, in 11th grade, Kelsey, a freshmen in college, Michael a junior at UofH, & Josh, a senior at UofH

Ms. Helen, Lori, & Julissa take great pride in their care & understanding of the needs of their patients. They have been trained to assist all patients with the kind of service that when patients leave the office they will feel comfortable to refer family & friends.
Ms. Lori Kircus has been an optician for over 22 years with TSO. Ms. Kircus is accomplished in contact lens dispensing and diagnostic imaging. She excels at frame styling and finding just the right frame to match each patient’s unique prescription. Lori is a wife, mother, and grandmother, a respected minister and a Autism Activist.
Bill Roach operates our full service lab. Bill has 30 years’ experience, priding himself on the quality of each and every pair of glasses. Our full service lab allows us to offer same day services on most prescription glasses. Bill is an avid out-doors man, who enjoys hunting and fishing. He is a family man who mostly enjoys spending quality time with family.
Danny Gold has been with TSO for over 25 years. As you may of noticed from his last name, he is the son of Dr. Samuel Gold, OD. He has been immersed in the optical world since birth. Working along side his brother (Dr. Marc Gold, OD) in the lab making glasses at a young age. Danny is an expert at adjusting glasses and is asked for by name. He and his wife Wendy have been happily married for 20 years and have three children, Jeffrey, Scott and Stephanie.
Julissa has been with TSO Shotwell for 6 years. She is our insurance specialist & receptionist. She is qualified to answer any of your questions regarding your insurance and happy to help frame style as well. Julissa is a football fan, and loves the Dallas Cowboys.
